Sara is based out of our Toronto studio and has been a vital force in the architecture and design profession since 2003, bringing a wealth of experience in commercial office and hospitality design. A project manager at DIALOG since 2016, Sara is a dedicated leader who contributes to the success of our interior design team and to our studio’s dynamic culture, delivering outstanding results on the many multi-disciplinary projects she leads. Sara has earned the admiration and respect from clients and colleagues alike for her collaboration, camaraderie, and mentorship.  

Excelling in the realm of workplace design, particularly in government work, Sara’s extensive experience in commercial office and hospitality design makes her a valuable member of our team. She cares deeply about the practice and the people she works with. A great teacher, she shares her expertise in design, art, and project management, fostering growth within her team and our studio, making her an integral part of DIALOG’s culture. 

Always eager to explore new opportunities, Sara is currently expanding her focus to include hospitality and post-secondary projects. Sara is a knowledgeable resource who builds strong relationships across disciplines. Her contributions significantly enhance the success of both the interior design team and DIALOG as a whole. 

Nick joined our Calgary studio in 2013 and has since become a senior interior designer specializing in complex healthcare, institutional, and cultural projects. An advocate for environments promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, he fosters innovation to craft purposeful, functional spaces that are accessible and support community wellbeing. With a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement, Nick creates spaces that beautifully respond to the diverse needs of the communities they serve. 

As a Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certified (RHFAC) professional, Nick serves as the Chair of enableDIALOG, a practice-wide initiative focused on accessibility and universal design strategies across all DIALOG studios. His work in this role has established him as a thought leader and mentor, enriching the dialogue around accessibility and inclusive design within the broader practice.  Through his commitment to professional development, including completing the BuildDIALOG leadership development program, participating in the Indigenous Storytelling Team, and chairing the enableDIALOG roundtable, Nick exemplifies a dedication to meaningful design and continues to enhance DIALOG’s practice. 

Nick’s expertise in healthcare and cultural projects has been instrumental to DIALOG’s success. His collaborative and positive attitude has enriched significant facilities, including the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre, Dartmouth General Hospital, UHN Toronto Western Hospital New Patient and Surgical Tower, Vivo for Healthier Generations, and the redevelopment of the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Through his thoughtful leadership and dedication to inclusive design, Nick shapes spaces that reflect DIALOG’s commitment to community wellbeing and design excellence. 

Nancy joined our Calgary studio in 2013, bringing extensive experience as a senior interior designer. During her time at DIALOG, she has further developed her passion for healthcare design, making significant contributions to healthcare projects such as the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre and the UHN Toronto Western Hospital New Surgical and Patient Tower. With a unique blend of attention to detail and technical expertise, Nancy approaches each project with a focus on designing spaces that positively impact patients, families, and staff. 

As a strong leader, her expertise shines through at every stage of her work, from client meetings and user group discussions to design development, where she integrates considerations for accessibility, infection prevention and control (IPAC), chemical resistance, and device coordination. Nancy has a gift for transforming complex interiors into environments that foster wellbeing. 

She is a dedicated advocate for healthcare design, having developed the “Healthcare Deep Dive Series,” an educational initiative aimed at expanding technical knowledge within teams. Her achievement as a Certified Healthcare Interior Design (CHID) credential reinforces her leadership in the industry and commitment to community wellbeing and design excellence.  

Jacqueline has been a DIALOGer since 2005. She brings a well-rounded knowledge of design and construction processes to her work. Jacqueline’s career has focused on community-oriented projects and institutional design. She brings a well-rounded knowledge of design and construction processes to her projects. As a lead interior designer and contract administrator, Jacqueline worked on the Mount Royal University Riddell Library & Learning Center, the Calgary Public Library Branch, and renovations to the Calgary Airport IFP and Kelowna Airport Air Terminal Expansion. She strives to understand the unique dynamics and needs of each client, organization, and end-user and appreciates each project’s varied creative and organizational requirements. As a result, she creates environments that optimize space use while being flexible enough to adapt to future needs. Reputable organization and communication skills are the foundation of Jacqueline’s success. She works diligently with clients, consultants, construction managers, and her fellow team members to create an inclusive environment where both people and projects can thrive. 

Sara builds upon 19 years of international and local design experience, including workplace, higher education, repositioning, mixed-use and multi-family. She brings an infectious passion which has amplified our practice through her expertise in engagement and thoughtful approach to transforming spaces for companies like Relic Entertainment, Electronic Arts, PwC, Peoples Group and Capilano University. Sara’s designs are transformational due to her curiosity in the discovery process to understand the core of a business’s objectives, culture, and employee needs. This materializes as unique, conscientious and purposeful designs that are inspiring and functional. As a champion for DIALOG’s integrated design process, her forward-thinking and human-centric approach, creative ability, and strong technical foundations cultivate progressive, inclusive and thoughtfully detailed outcomes.

Throughout her more than 15 years of commercial design experience, Cindy has led various new build and renovation projects. She believes that that the design process is all about people and is dedicated to meeting the individual needs of clients, stakeholders, and project design teams. A passion for creating well-balanced and intuitively designed spaces drives Cindy’s work. Multidisciplinary, integrated design processes are, for her, the best way to realize that goal. Her ability to bridge the gap between design practice and theory rests in balancing great attention to detail with the overall design vision. As a mentor, coach, and teacher, Cindy is devoted to sharing her knowledge and experience.

Angela is an ambidextrous interior designer who balances highly evolved technical expertise with insightful planning, creative designs, and organized leadership. Her firm belief that the best design solutions come about by understanding challenges from all perspectives have made her an invaluable member of our team for over two decades. Angela’s inquisitive nature, determination, and passion lead her to thoughtful designs for large national clients and small community initiatives. With more than 30 years of experience, Angela’s New Brunswick roots and roll-up-the-sleeves approach bring a driven, collaborative ethos to our team. Clients respect her as their trusted advisor. As a result, Angela has worked with repeat clients on multiple projects. She is a registered interior designer and member of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO) and Interior Designers of Canada (IDC). 

Michele is conceptual, analytical, authentic, and youthfully exuberant. A designer with DIALOG for over 20 years, she approaches every project with new eyes, rather than projecting a signature style. Michele innately creates design solutions that embody each client’s specific aspirations, brand vision, and needs. The result is fresh and unique spaces that improve community wellbeing.

 Michele isn’t afraid to ask why, and she doesn’t easily accept the status quo. Curious, her work moves the dial on place making in a way that simplifies the complex. Creating answers through ingenious and delightful interpretations is where she gets her kicks.

Michele sets the tone for interior design as the lead for our national interior design discipline and the Vancouver interior design team. Her lengthy experience, together with the fact that she’s just so likable, gives her the exceptional capacity to build relationships between team members, consultants, and clients. Michele manages to do this in a way that brings excitement, commitment, and dedication from the entire project team. She is warm, charming, and pragmatic. Michele designs from a place of care and interest, and that’s what makes her such a strong interior design team leader.

Alison joined us as a partner in our Toronto studio following a 14-year tenure as a design director with another firm. One of our national interior design leaders, she focuses on hospitality, retail, and corporate workplace projects. Alison approaches each design challenge with unmatched rigor, an eye for detail, and bold pragmatism.  Her roster of award-winning work illustrates her belief that all great projects start with understanding the brand’s urban, building, and cultural context in conjunction with the market, business aspirations, and client’s needs. Allison’s ability to move seamlessly between all building scales and disciplines influences her integrated design solutions, from master planning and programming to the refined detail of a custom chair.

A genuinely passionate designer, Alison has a talent for turning abstract ideas into inspiring built environments. Over her 20-plus-year career, she has developed an impressive body of work defining global brands. Some of her most notable projects include the Four Seasons Toronto d|bar, the Four Seasons Toronto Spa, the Four Seasons Resort Whistler, and the JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District. Alison is always hands-on and works closely with her clients to design beautiful spaces that exceed their expectations. 

Alison also currently serves as a member of the Governing Council, an elected body within the Partnership, responsible for the stewardship in the long-term interests and wellbeing of DIALOG.

Cohen (who goes by her last name) is an exceptional designer who brings an impressive wealth of knowledge in large, complex institutional projects. Cohen’s background in both interior design and architecture allows her to deliver a holistic approach to designing buildings from the inside out. Her national and international award-winning work is characterized by exceptional quality of light, careful material choices, strategic use of colour, and a selection of furnishings that work harmoniously to elevate the overall spatial experience of every building.

Cohen brings considerable experience to DIALOG’s diverse portfolio of institutional projects, including academic, civic, and sports and recreation projects. Known for her methodical, hands-on, collaborative style from early concept through completion, Cohen’s design leadership translates client’s visions and aspirations into elevated, thoughtful, design solutions that are timeless and beautiful. Her passion for equitable and universal design is also integral to her design process. She leads stakeholder explorations around cultural, physical, and gender sensitives to support and enhance the user experience. Cohen is also a Rick Hansen Foundation Accessibility Certification (RHFAC) Professional and helps promote conversations and design solutions that improve meaningful use and equitable experiences of her projects.
