Andrew is a structural engineer with over 15 years of experience in bridge and infrastructure design across Western Canada and the North. He has led the project management, design, and contract administration of transportation structures projects of all sizes, ranging from short-span structures to major crossings in both urban and rural spaces for pedestrians, cyclists, vehicles, and transit.
Andrew’s expertise includes both new design, and condition assessment and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure. His portfolio includes key and award-winning projects such as the Smith Crossing Pedestrian Bridge and Valley Line LRT in Edmonton, the Taché Promenade and Belvédère St. Boniface in Winnipeg, the Hwy 16 over Assiniboine River Bridge in Manitoba, the Lapie River #2 Bridge Replacement in the Yukon, and the Hwy 35 over Notikewin River Bridge Rehabilitation in Manning, Alberta, among others.
Passionate about “doing great work, with great people, on projects that provide real long-term value for partners,” Andrew is known for his approachable demeanor, and thoughtful, collaborative leadership. He enjoys leading multidisciplinary teams, developing creative and complete solutions partnering closely with clients and teammates, and mentoring the next generation of engineers. His experience deepens DIALOG’s transportation structures capability in our Calgary and Edmonton studios and across the practice.

Victoria is a structural engineer based out of our Edmonton studio who brings a wealth of knowledge in structural design, contract administration, and project management. With a passion for mentorship and a collaborative approach to every project she undertakes, Victoria is an integral part of the technical expertise and culture of the structural team.
She is recognized for her leadership in structural design and contract administration, driving collaboration and knowledge sharing across the practice. As a leading member of the Professional Practice Management Plan (PPMP) committee and a past Chair of the Consulting Engineers of Canada (CEA) Young Professionals Group, Victoria approaches every project as a chance to expand her skills. A valued coach and connector, she shares her structural design expertise to strengthen teamwork and collaboration across DIALOG’s studios.
Bringing a fresh perspective to every project, Victoria’s notable achievements include her work on the Garneau Student Residence and Fort Edmonton Park Rehabilitation. Known for her versatility, she effectively solves complex issues with practical solutions and fosters collaborative discussions.
Steven joined DIALOG as a structural engineer in 2010. At the heart of his approach is an understanding of how design directly impacts people today and in the long run, ultimately allowing him to create the best possible outcomes for our communities. Steven believes that the collaboration of an integrated project team keeps people at the forefront of our work and utilizes cross-disciplinary knowledge to redefine how the built environment serves our world. To do so, he combines technical engineering analysis with his passion for building relationships, in turn fostering a generative environment that results in great design.
Steven has led large and small bridges, serving roads, light rail, heavy rail, pedestrian bridges, as well as various building typologies. His notable projects include the iconic Walterdale Bridge in Edmonton; the three-span Highgate Bridge over State Highway 1 in Auckland, New Zealand; and the Addition and Renovation of the Student’s Union Building at his Alma Mater, the University of Alberta. Within DIALOG, Steven is a key leader in the structural group, and serves as a coach and resource manager for the bridge engineering team. He is currently a member of the Steel Design Committee for the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (S6).
Larissa is passionate about working on infrastructure projects that enhance the public realm and shape the wellbeing of communities for future generations. Throughout her experience working on high-profile, large, and complex civil infrastructure projects, she always strives for win-win-win solutions. Larissa advocates for city-building visions and motivates colleagues and stakeholders to maintain these visions when navigating conversations around project constraints and conflicting interests. She is currently working as a design manager for the Valley Line LRT, a multi-billion dollar project, to confirm Sustainable Urban Integration (SUI), public art, landscaping, environmental facilities and structures, and that project agreement requirements are met to achieve the City of Edmonton’s vision. As a young professional, Larissa is energetic and passionate about the projects she is involved with and thrives in fast-paced and challenging environments. She enjoys problem-solving and brings a creative way of thinking to her multidisciplinary teams.
An integral member of our Calgary structural engineering team, David is passionate about integrated design, design innovation, and staying at the cutting edge of industry developments. His expertise is in fibre reinforced concrete and polymer materials in the design of structural cladding, vibration and seismic analysis, and the conservation of heritage structures. David has worked on small and large projects throughout Canada, across diverse industry sectors. He is adept at working on fast-paced projects from initial concept through to construction completion. David’s significant contract administration experience results in practical, expedient resolutions to issues that arise during construction. Quick to dive into every challenge he encounters, he brings a focus on supporting the sustainable design and practice standards to our studio. David is particularly involved in efforts to reduce embodied carbon and energy in our buildings and to increase our usage of sustainable materials.
Ryan is a structural engineer and has been a key contributor to our team for over 15 years. His results-driven outlook and natural big-picture thinking led him to project and team management roles. Ryan’s experience in multiple building sectors spans healthcare, institutional and post-secondary education, retail, renovations, and parking structures. Fully invested in every project, he believes that building strong client relationships through trust and exceptional work forms the foundation of collective success.
Cameron joined the structural engineering team in our Edmonton before pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. After completing his studies on the effects of blast loading on tubular steel, he joined our Toronto studio. In addition to work in protective design, Cameron has led projects across various sectors, including healthcare, institutional, government, and retail. He brings dynamism and a passion for structural engineering to all of his projects. Cameron is continually inspired by groundbreaking structures and the engineers that designed them. A keen problem solver, he is committed to working with clients to find a solution that meets their needs and has a meaningful, long-term impact on the community at large. Drawing from his background in architectural training and as an elite athlete, Cameron believes in the power of an integrated, team-first approach to finding optimal structural solutions. His technical proficiency has been recognized through numerous academic awards, including the Government of Canada’s prestigious Vanier Graduate Scholarship.
Ryan is an integral part of our structural engineering team, bringing his prior experience as a consulting engineer in Dublin, Ireland. He is an insightful, innovative, dedicated engineer and an advocate for thoughtful, efficient structural designs. A chartered member of the Institute of Engineers Ireland (IEI), Ryan is also a professional engineer in Alberta and British Columbia. In our Edmonton studio, his responsibilities include structural project management, design, and overseeing the production of contract drawings. He also works on establishing fees and fee structures while coordinating with other disciplines and clients. Ryan thrives in high-pressure situations and loves working collaboratively with contractors. He works tirelessly to bring success to all of his projects.
Sandra started with DIALOG as a structural engineer before pivoting to pursue her passion for transit design. Now, as a project manager in our emerging transit design team, she explores its potential to reshape cities, connect communities, and revitalize businesses. Sandra specializes in managing the architectural and engineering design of structures, stops, stations, and facilities on projects like the Valley Line West LRT in Edmonton. She works from a Sustainable Urban Integration lens, approaching a project by the way it looks, feels, and integrates into the urban fabric of its community. In her previous role, Sandra was involved in the structural engineering design and contract administration for major institutional projects, including the Royal Alberta Museum, Norquest Singhmar Centre for Learning, and the Edson Healthcare Centre. She is particularly adept at uniting different priorities and concerns of diverse consultants to develop mutually beneficial design solutions.
Sandra is also committed to empowering young women and promoting gender equality in science, engineering, and technology. Sandra serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of WISEST Society, which she helped to found in 2017 to raise funds for Women in Scholarship, Engineering, Science and Technology (WISEST).
For 25 years, Mehrak has served DIALOG with a fearless pursuit of innovative project solutions and a distinct ability to think outside the box. Spanning building types, scales, and materials, Mehrak always finds a way to solve complicated approaches and push the status quo. Mehrak provides technical leadership to the Vancouver Structural Team and helped establish tall building structural engineering in both the Toronto and Edmonton studios. He was integral to the engineering of the award winning, zero carbon 105-storey Hybrid Wood Tower Prototype Project, as well as Living Shangri-La towers in Toronto and Vancouver, and other notable projects. His interest in computer programming and automation has resulted in the authorship of many analysis and design programs now used across the practice, facilitating data exchange and collaboration between ETABS, Excel, AutoCad, and Revit.
Mehrak is always looking to improve the quality and accuracy of the design process. In his free time, he participates in code committees and related volunteer work in programming. A respected member of Canada’s engineering community, Mehrak is also a member of Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)’s Seismic Peer Review Committee and Technical Review Board, and has been an active voting member of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) concrete code committee since 2014.
