Antonio Gόmez-Palacio as Jury Chair for the 2023 Halifax Urban Design Awards

May 29, 2023

On Monday, June 26, DIALOG Chair Antonio Gόmez-Palacio will join a panel at the 2023 Halifax Urban Design Awards as one of four independent jurors to evaluate design project submissions.

Urban design plays an important role in enhancing the quality of life for residents of the Halifax Regional Municipality by improving the functionality, sustainability, and overall appearance of the public and private spaces. The nominations for the awards ceremony include projects from designers, developers, sponsors, students and owners who have submitted designs from around Halifax municipal communities – both in the Regional Centre and smaller rural communities.

All projects must reflect community content, inspire civic awareness and participation, and intentionally addresses accessibility, diversity or inclusion. Antonio will use his urban expertise along with Camille Mitchell, Architect at SvN Architects and Planners, Matthew A.J. Brown, Co-Founder of Brackish Design Studio, and Sarah Anderson, Manager of Development Planning, to evaluate which projects make a lasting, positive impact on residents for the betterment of communities – now and in the future.
