For the 4th consecutive year, DIALOG is recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers.
As a leader in regenerative planning and design, it’s always been important that we hold ourselves accountable for the carbon output of our own activities. How do we ensure we continue to raise the bar year after year? Here are some specific actions we are taking:
- We have a Carbon Action Plan which addresses all operational areas of the firm from electricity and natural gas usage, to air travel and daily commuting to water and paper usage. In fact, we estimate about a 57% reduction in our weekly impact since we began working remotely!
- We seek to reduce our operational footprint and ultimately operate in a carbon neutral manner through a unique “offsetting” partnership with Community Forests International and the purchase of 66 hectares of forest in the province of New Brunswick.
- DIALOG has signed on to the American Institute of Architects 2030 Commitment to ensure that all new buildings and major renovations are designed to be carbon-neutral by 2030. The initiative will also ensure that staff are trained on the latest sustainable design practices as the firm works towards the ambitious goal.

Environmental sustainability was once considered contrary to running a successful enterprise, however, within a generation we have witnessed a complete reversal — a focus on long-term sustainability is not only necessary for the health of any organization but for society as a whole."Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project.
