It’s about People | Anchoring the Stewardship of Land and History in a Vision for the Future
The imperatives of mitigating and adapting to the impacts of climate change have often focused on tangible environmental factors – carbon and greenhouse gases. Similarly, the discussions concerning the conservation of heritage sites and resources have often focused on the overt artifacts, the brick and the mortars. Moderated by Cecilie Smith-Christensen, Expert Advisor, UNESCO World Heritage Sustainable Tourism Program, this session will focus on their intertwining social dimension. On how – by focusing on the people who are impacted – it is possible to enrich a conversation about sustainability and conservation with a future-oriented, meaningful practice.
