We are delighted to share that DIALOG will return to DesignTO Festival, recognizing community wellbeing design excellence at the 2023 DesignTO Awards.
From January 20 to January 29, the annual DesignTO Festival, Canada’s leading and largest design festival, is celebrating design as a multidisciplinary form of creative thinking and making. Since 2011, the festival has been bringing communities together to celebrate creativity and culture, featuring the work of hundreds of local designers – from furniture and lighting, to interiors, architecture, and art installations. Joined by Yabu Pushelberg, DIALOG will return as co-sponsor of the 2023 DesignTO Awards, presenting three awards – the Community Wellbeing People’s Choice award, Juror’s Choice award, and the Community Wellbeing award – inspired by the Community Wellbeing Framework.
About the Community Wellbeing Framework
Created by DIALOG along with the Conference Board of Canada, the Community Wellbeing Framework is a guide comprised of domains, indicators, and metrics that can systematically address wellbeing along a variety of project types and scales. The Framework was a two-year collaborative research initiative to study the relationship between the built environment and the wellbeing of people, helping design professionals to understand the impact of their work on community wellbeing.
Community Wellbeing – People’s Choice Award
Voted by the people, the People’s Choice Award, Community Wellbeing recognizes a designer that positively contributes to the wellbeing of the community through their design.
