The University of Calgary hosted the groundbreaking of its 70,000 sq ft Veterinary Learning Commons (VLC) & Clinical Skills Building (CSB) Renovation, designed by DIALOG, on Friday, December 1.
Expected to be completed in Fall 2025, the Veterinary Learning Commons’ new building will welcome nearly twice as many aspiring veterinarians per year and become a hub of innovation. The centre will allow students to engage in hands-on learning experiences, supported by cutting-edge resources and technologies, improving the long-term sustainable animal care in Alberta.
The $44 million renovation on the Spyhill campus is set to redefine the learning landscape by offering critical new learning spaces, including world-class standard clinical facilities and a blend of classrooms, administrative spaces, instructional web laboratory, lecture theatres, collaboration spaces, and student service areas. Enhanced remote AV technology will be used to increase the teaching outreach of the facility.
DIALOG will be providing structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, architectural and interior design services, and are targeting LEED® Gold standard certification.
