DIALOG is pleased to announce its merger with Rockliff Pierzchajlo Kroman (RPK) Architects, effective August 1, 2025.
DIALOG and RPK have a strong history of collaboration and share deep roots in Edmonton. This merger builds on that foundation – combining our expertise and commitment to design excellence to better serve our clients and communities. Together, we’re expanding our capacity to create meaningful, sustainable places that foster healing, belonging, and civic pride.
Based in Edmonton, RPK brings a legacy of progressive, community-centered architecture. Since 1969, the firm has worked on projects throughout communities in Western Canada and the Territories, spanning healthcare, long-term care, socially responsible housing, and institutional sectors. RPK is passionate about collaborating with communities to create resilient, efficient spaces that make a positive impact – an approach that aligns closely with DIALOG’s values. The RPK team will join our Edmonton studio, working alongside more than 150 DIALOG employees, 10 partners, and 27 associates.
A recent collaboration between the two practices is the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Redevelopment, a $1.45B healthcare initiative led by DIALOG as Prime Consultant for Alberta Infrastructure. DIALOG engaged RPK in a site and historical advisory role, as well as in design peer review, focusing on architectural expression, massing, siting, materiality, and the integration of the new patient tower into the existing campus. Experts from both practices also collaborated to optimize clinical and operational efficiency of new and existing facilities.
As part of the merger, Jan Kroman – former RPK principal – joins DIALOG as partner and architect. Principal Jonathan Rockliff will take the role of consultant partner upon joining DIALOG, remaining active and fully engaged with design teams and clients on various projects. RPK Principal Emeritus Jan Pierzchajlo retired in 2022.
Associates Peter Wong, Karen Muir, Dan Letourneau, and Jeffrey Nelson – along with other RPK employees – will join our Edmonton team.
