Urban planning shapes climate outcomes. With low-carbon urban design, it becomes part of the solution.
DIALOG is proud to have won the Council for Canadian Urbanism (CanU) Rising Urbanist Forum CHA[lle]NGE.
The challenge calls on emerging urbanists to present their most innovative ideas that push the boundaries of urban design, offering a platform to help shape the future of Canadian cities.
The winning proposal, titled “Decarbonize Urbanism: The Policy to Carbon Pipeline,” was developed by DIALOG Vancouver architectural designers Katie Theall, Gavin Pattman, and Alejandra Loaiza Granda. The project focuses on embodied carbon and how urban design policy for emerging transit-oriented developments can be reimagined to reduce embodied emissions, enhance sustainability, and enrich the public realm.
