We have a winner! Andrew Young (CivE, MASc candidate) received the 2019-2020 Donald Tong Graduate Scholarship in Structural Engineering award at a ceremony hosted in our new Toronto studio on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. Congratulations, Andrew!

The scholarship was established in partnership with the University of Toronto to strengthen an already-great relationship between DIALOG’s structural engineering team and the University’s engineering students and faculty.

Donald Tong, a long-time structural engineering team member, tragically passed away after a courageous battle with cancer in 2018.

Donald epitomized the integrated design culture and thinking that is the heart of DIALOG. Always striving for more, Donald started his career as an interior designer, then pursued a stint as an architectural technologist before finding his true passion in structural engineering.

It’s our hope that future structural engineers will embody some of Donald’s creative, wide ranging, design spirit.
