CCDC 2-2020 – What’s New?, What’s Changed?, What’s Staying!

In this session, Keith Robinson will explore all the latest updates, alterations, and timeless features of CCDC 2-2020, which is a stipulated price contract that is the industry standard prime contract between owner and prime contractor.

The contract establishes a single, pre-determined fixed price, or lump sum, for the project. It outlines the high-level administrative requirements and procedures needed for construction projects, including the role and authority of the consultant, procedures for changes in the work, work by other contractors, insurance requirements, prerequisites for Ready-for-Takeover, dispute resolution procedures, early occupancy by the Owner, and more. Operating based on a stipulated price, the CCDC 2 assumes monthly progress payments and refers to provincial payment legislations where applicable.

About CSC Bridge (Virtual) Chapter

Construction Specifications Canada (CSC) launched a Chapter Charter for the formation of the CSC Bridge Chapter, a new virtual chapter that aims to bridge the design and construction community nationwide, allowing the delivery of high-quality education, training, and professional development opportunities. CSC Bridge connects remote members who may face geographical or other types of barriers to participation in traditional Chapters, and provide opportunities for collaboration and learning in an environment that is calibrated to the new paradigm of remote working.

The Bridge Chapter will be led by Laura Herbert, DIALOG associate and specifier, who will serve as the Chapter Chair and will be supported by Scott Haddy and Denny Duong.
