Supporting Communities and Spreading Joy This Holiday Season

December 19, 2024

As 2024 draws to a close and 2025 approaches, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family for a joyful, healthy, and memorable holiday season and new year.

The holiday season brings a special joy we look forward to all year – and with it comes the opportunity to reflect on the spirit of giving and make meaningful and tangible difference to the wellbeing of our communities.

This year, we have continued our tradition of giving back through DIALOG’s 2024 Holiday Giveback initiative by funding time for our employees to volunteer for a cause they care about. Members from each of our studios dedicated time volunteering at local organizations – from supporting mental health initiatives and foundations that empower vulnerable communities, to volunteering at local shelters, food banks, and outreach programs.

Explore some of last year’s inspiring stories that showcase the heartwarming spirit of generosity in our communities:

Giving back at the Calgary Food Bank

“The Calgary Retail and Mixed-Use team volunteered at Calgary’s annual Holiday Food Bank. Our team has been volunteering at the food bank for over 10 years and always looks forward to volunteering every year!

We’re looking forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come. Our team is grateful to be able to participate in giving back to our community through the DIALOG Holiday Giveback initiative.”

Giving back at the Bissell Centre

“The Edmonton Interior Design team had the honour of volunteering at Bissell Centre – West Edmonton, as part of the DIALOG Holiday Giveback initiative. It was a very humbling and rewarding experience. We volunteered in the kitchen where we helped with holiday meal preparations.

In the end, as a thank you, we shared a lunch meal with all the volunteers and Bissell Kitchen’s team. We got to understand the magnitude of efforts done by the Bissell Centre and other non-profit organizations and what they do in our community, providing hundreds of meals daily. It was a great team-building opportunity as we got to experience the joy of giving as a team.

I am very grateful to be part of a practice that believes in giving back and aims to make our community a better place.”

Giving back at We Care

“A few Vancouver DIALOGers participated in We Care 2023, an event that takes place annually in the Frog Hollow Neighborhood House in East Vancouver.

At this initiative, various industry suppliers, community partners, interior design and architecture firms come together to spread holiday cheer for the children of this neighbourhood, where many live in under-privileged and under-represented backgrounds. Volunteering firms prepared and brought in craft kits for the children to create gifts for their families and friends.

It was rewarding to be able to participate in this meaningful event and see children having an enjoyable time.”

Giving back at Santas Anonymous

“A few DIALOGers along with our families, volunteered at Edmonton’s Santas Anonymous, a volunteer opportunity that collects, sorts, packages, and delivers toys to thousands of children each year. This was a fulfilling and rewarding day, and a great opportunity to support a needy cause at such a special time of the year.”

From all of us at DIALOG, we want to share our deepest gratitude and send our warmest wishes for a bright and joyful start to the new year.
