Watch Cities for Everyone Webinar: Antonio Gómez-Palacio Speaks on Wellbeing by Design

August 2, 2023

As a society, we face seemingly unsurmountable challenges: climate change, social equity, and stained economics to name a few. How we build our homes, our neighbourhoods, and cities serves to either compound the problem or drive solutions.

On Tuesday, July 25, DIALOG Chair Antonio Gómez-Palacio was the featured guest speaker on Gil Penalosa’s webinar series, ‘Cities for Everyone’, presenting on ‘Wellbeing by Design: A Purpose-Driven Design Practice’.

Through the webinar, Antonio empowered design professionals and businesses of the built environment to embrace their sense of purpose – that it is through their work a difference is made to meaningfully improve the wellbeing of communities.

Viewers from 21 countries signed up for Antonio’s magnificent presentation on wellbeing by design, highlighting his knowledge and experience, while giving realistic actions to create equitable and sustainable cities. I am very grateful for Antonio’s insightful and useful presentation and dialogue.

At DIALOG, we believe in creating a positive impact by engaging the right people, fostering innovative ideas, implementing projects, building capabilities, and inspiring leadership. The world faces daunting challenges – and our decisions in design and planning can create incremental change and impact. We must design with intention to confront these issues.

How we engage with the built environment has a reciprocal premise with our wellbeing. It influences us, and we impact on the world. Understanding the impact of our design decisions can lead to healthier and more sustainable communities.
