The University of Calgary DIALOG Structural Design Scholarship was established in partnership with the University of Calgary in 1984 to encourage studies in structural engineering.
The annual award is valued at up to $8,300 and is open to undergraduate students entering third or fourth year in the Department of Civil Engineering, based on their performance in the annual DIALOG Bridge Competition.
Each year an engineering design problem is identified, and individuals or teams compete to design the best solution. This typically requires the design and construction of a model, accompanied by a brief written report and an oral presentation.
