Andrew joined our Vancouver studio in 2018 and has since made significant contributions to our mixed-use, workplace, and planning portfolios. With a passion for project delivery, technical excellence, and mentorship of the next generation of designers, he brings a wealth of experience to the team. Recognized for his high level of expertise, Andrew excels in managing complex mixed-use projects that integrate residential, retail, and office spaces.
In 2019, he was amongst the first to champion DIALOG’s Reality Capture workflow using Matterport technology in the Vancouver studio. This innovative approach has transformed decision-making and design processes, reducing the need for site visits and minimizing DIALOG’s carbon footprint. Andrew is passionate about adaptively reusing existing buildings and aims to expand this market sector.
With over 20 years of experience on large and small-scale projects across Canada and Europe, Andrew possesses strong conceptual design skills and is adept at analytical problem-solving. A naturally inquisitive and creative thinker, his ability to understand client needs in relation to project scope, budget, and schedule makes him an invaluable asset to the team.
How do you hope your work positively impacts our communities and environment?
When I drive my children around Vancouver I enjoy telling them which buildings I’ve designed. I’m excited to continue contributing to Vancouver being in a better place than when I found it.
What’s one thing about you that would surprise people?
I came to Vancouver 25 years ago to surf the world-famous Skookumchuck Narrows on the sunshine coast. I returned in 2006 to work on the Winter Olympic Village, and I’m excited to be part of the DIALOG team that shapes Vancouver for the next generation.
What do you do to get out of a creative rut?
Do something different!
I love designing and building our urban environment during the day and playing sports in the evening.
