A versatile and thoughtful designer, Faraz brings over nine years of architectural design experience in Canada and the Middle East, along with two master’s degrees in architecture. Since joining our Toronto studio in 2021, Faraz’s calm nature has made him a trusted mentor and leader. He has played an instrumental role in shaping our mixed-use projects at DIALOG, fostering a studio culture that is collaborative, inclusive, and engaging.
Highly regarded for his design expertise, Faraz approaches the design challenges with a mix of artistic expression and technical precision. His leadership on key mixed-use developments, including 7079 Yonge St, 6125 Yonge St, 118 Queen St, and 5320-5334 Yonge St, has been vital to our success in delivering innovative and impactful projects.
What’s your favorite DIALOG project?
The Seneca College Health and Wellness Centre. It beautifully integrates Indigenous principles, with the round courtyard embracing nature and community in the center. This project showcases DIALOG’s commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and enhancing community wellbeing.
What’s one ‘Pro Tip’ you live by?
One of my design mentors once said, “When you want to think clearly, go somewhere you can see the horizon.” I took the essence of this advice to heart, embodying the boundlessness, broader perspective, forward thinking, and deep connection to nature it represents.
What do you do to get out of a creative rut?
I turn to artistic mediums—painting, music, and photography. Watercolor gives me freedom and spontaneity, playing music is a non-visual structure and atmospheric exercise, while photography encourages me to rethink my surroundings. I also love nature adventures—skiing, rock climbing, and ice climbing. The physical challenges and being in nature refresh my mind and energy.
