Katie has over a decade of experience working on a wide range of project types, ranging from transit and parks to healthcare and commercial. Her ability to keep an eye on the big picture without missing the details makes her a strong project manager, navigating complexity with ease. Katie is a thoughtful listener, channeling what she hears into design solutions that work for the community and reflect the site’s unique assets. Her passion for integrating built form with natural systems continues to inspire her.
Katie’s a natural collaborator and enjoys working closely with her teams. Some of her notable projects include the detailed design for First Nations Health Authority Head Office and Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s Learning Gardens & Welcome Plaza, the pursuit and design phases for New Surrey Hospital and BC Cancer Centre and contract administration for Rainbow Park.
What’s your favourite DIALOG project? Why?
sθәqәlxenәm ts’exwts’áxwi7 Rainbow Park. Such a creative and fun park which I did Contract Administration for!
If you could work a ‘day-in-the-life’ of another discipline at DIALOG, whose would it be? Why?
Interior Design. I wanted to do interior design as a child, and our designers always have beautiful material samples lying around. I’d love to mix and match those for a day.
What do you do to get out of a creative rut?
I’ll go for a walk and take my mind off it. I know my subconscious will keep working on the problem for me.
