How do you hope your work positively impacts our communities and environment?
Our buildings should do more than meet functional needs — they should inspire the people who use them, offering opportunities to grow, connect, and improve their lives. Thoughtful design can shape experiences, support well-being, and empower communities.

What do you do to get out of a creative rut?
To clear my mind, I turn to tai chi. The slow, intentional movements help me refocus, release tension, and find balance — both mentally and physically. It’s a practice that brings calm and clarity, especially in the midst of a busy day or a restless mind.

What do you geek out on?
Bird watching has become a quiet passion — one I never imagined embracing in my younger years. What started as simple curiosity has grown into a deep appreciation for nature’s rhythms, patience, and the beauty of observation. It’s a peaceful counterbalance to the busyness of daily life, offering moments of stillness, discovery, and connection with the natural world.

How does your work inform your personal philosophy and vice versa?
Specification writing is fairly linear and structured — much like the way I try to live my day-to-day life. I value clarity, organization, and purpose, whether I’m drafting technical documents or navigating daily routines. That structured approach helps me stay focused, intentional, and grounded.

"Balance is essential in every aspect of life. Work provides purpose, income, and achievement, while quality time with family offers emotional grounding, love, and support. Without balance, one can quickly overwhelm the other."
