Shea joined our team in 2008 after graduating from the Diploma of Architectural and Interior Technologies program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. An Architectural Technologist, LEED® Green Associate, Shea has worked on many notable projects in healthcare and lab research buildings, now a growing area of influence for DIALOG.
As a member of DIALOG’s healthcare design team, Shea’s experience on key DIALOG portfolio projects include Grande Prairie Regional Hospital (GPRH), Alberta Children’s Hospital Research Institute (ACHRI) Laboratory, Calgary Cancer Centre (CCC), Burnaby Hospital Phase 2 (BH2) Indicative Design, and Toronto Western Hospital (TWH)—all varied in technical complexity. She is a leader at DIALOG with strong client relationships. Shea is highly conversant on clinical planning and operational needs of users while understanding and balancing the technical needs of medical equipment coordination, construction documentation, and building code requirements.
What’s your favorite DIALOG project?
The Calgary Cancer Centre project is my favorite DIALOG project I have worked on. The building design promotes healing by incorporating natural light, calming spaces, and efficient layouts, providing a positive environment aiding in patient recovery and reduced stress.
What’s the one thing you want to redesign every time you see or use it?
Public washrooms. There is usually always something to improve with the layout.
What is your favorite DIALOG initiative?
The Milestones event. Being able to celebrate these achievements creates a positive workplace culture, motivating employees and reinforcing a sense of accomplishment!
