John’s wide range of project experience includes post-secondary academic buildings, public libraries, healthcare, and recreational facilities. Over 20 years of practice, some of his most notable projects include public and institutional libraries with over $250 million construction values. John is an enthusiastic advocate of sustainable and regenerative design who enjoys collaborative creation.
He is the project architect for the University of Calgary MacKimmie Complex and the Mount Royal University Riddell Library + Learning Centre, a new standalone facility to accommodate student and faculty academic excellence. As a project and design architect, John has undertaken more than ten branch modernization projects for the Calgary Public Library, including renovations to the Central Branch.

The University of Calgary MacKimmie Complex because it embodies the soul of the firm’s design prowess and commitment to Net Zero Carbon and deeply sustainable architecture.
