Climate Imperative Series: Net-Zero Buildings

The City of Calgary has declared a state of climate emergency. The Climate Imperative is a DIALOG initiative bringing design and city building professionals together to seek collaborative action. The public conversation series is part of this initiative. Discussions will take place in Calgary with a variety of climate topics affecting the building industry: Net-Zero Buildings, Energy Transition Strategies for Cities, and Energy Futures. 

Join us on January 10, 2023 at 4:30 p.m. MST for “Climate Imperative Part 1: Net‐Zero Buildings,” the first of a panel series hosted by DIALOG.

Climate Imperative Part 1: Net-Zero Buildings

The panel brings together three leaders in the building industry who are seeking to create places that are future-proof and made for people:

  • Michael Emory, Founder, President, CEO, Allied Properties REIT
  • Joanne Perdue, Associate Vice President, Sustainability, University of Calgary
  • Mara Baum, DIALOG Partner, Architecture + Sustainability

Moderated by David Gray, former host of CBC’s Eyeopener, their conversation will inspire a new way of designing and building our cities to achieve urban resilience. They will discuss the future of buildings from the development, design and operator perspectives.
