Indigenous Envelopes: First Nations Health Authority (FNHA)
DIALOG has used mass timber and the vernacular building practices of the First Nations people to design an office building for the First Nations Health Authority in North Vancouver. More specifically, the six-story structure emulates the plank houses of the Coast Salish people. Project architects Katherine Gerson and Ryan McClanaghan, along with FNHA VP Greg Shea will present the building’s post-and-beam timber structure, the implementation of fire protection requirements, and the prefabrication process.
