The Seneca Polytechnic Health & Wellness Centre and SAIT Downtown: School for Advanced Digital Technology were chosen for recognition by an international jury of design professionals, academics, and industry experts.
In their 19th year, the Awards highlight excellence in architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, and related disciplines.
The Seneca Polytechnic Health and Wellness Centre, designed in collaboration with Two Row Architect, won gold in two architecture categories and two interior design categories:
Designed based on Indigenous principles, the Centre will unite health, recreation, and student services under one roof, offering traditional medicines, counseling, recreational and athletic facilities, and a new home for the Seneca Student Federation. Sustainability will be embedded throughout the multi-storey complex, with mass timber construction, green roofs, rainwater harvesting, renewable materials, and clean energy technologies.
The Centre has received previous accolades from the Global Architecture & Design Awards, the 2025 International Design Awards, and the 2025 Architecture MasterPrize.
SAIT Downtown: School for Advanced Digital Technology won silver for Interior Design in the Education, Civic & Health category.
Completed in 2025 and spanning 18,000 square feet across two floors, this reimagined commercial office space delivers state-of-the-art learning environments tailored to future workforce needs. Equipped with cutting-edge e-learning classrooms, a command centre, flexible event spaces, and informal student gathering areas to foster collaboration, the facility reinforces SAIT’s status as a leader in applied education.
The project has also earned an Award of Excellence from the Southern Alberta Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Manufacturers Association of Canada (AWMAC).
