Mona Lovgreen is a visionary architect and strategic leader known for her transformative approach to design, innovation, and community-building. As a Partner at DIALOG, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s presence in the U.S., spearheading the growth of its San Francisco studio into a hub for bold, purpose-driven design. Her expertise lies in crafting high-impact urban environments that seamlessly integrate architecture, public space, and human experience.

With a career spanning complex mixed-use, residential, and large-scale urban master plans, Mona thrives in projects that demand deep collaboration, critical thinking, and an innovative approach to placemaking. Her leadership on The River Mile in Denver, Richmond Centre in Vancouver, and Arena Larkin in Malaysia showcases her ability to orchestrate multidisciplinary teams to create vibrant, connected, and sustainable communities. Mona’s work is driven by a human-centered philosophy, balancing context, culture, and creativity to shape the built environments that are both timeless and forward-thinking.

Mona is deeply engaged in the architectural and urban design discourse, serving on the ULI SF District Council Board and Chair of Mission Advancement, where she drives initiatives that shape the future of the built environment. She also actively contributes to SPUR’s Urban Infrastructure and Planning and Architecture Committee. Her commitment to education extends to her role as Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley, where she mentors the next generation of urban designers.

What’s your favourite DIALOG project?
Denver River Mile. This 15 million sq ft development on a 62-acre site in downtown Denver is a truly mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly and transit-oriented development.

Where do you find inspiration?
Travelling to new places and experiencing unique cultures and ways of life.

What’s your favourite mode of transportation?
Taking San Francisco’s historic cable car to work.
