Katherine has worked as an architect and interior designer for over 25 years. With a focus on community and civic projects, her portfolio spans offices, mixed-use developments, post-secondary facilities, libraries, museums, and arts complexes. Katherine contributed her expertise to The River residential condominiums in Calgary, and the LEED® Gold certified Bankers Court office building. She also worked on three office buildings developed at the suburban Westmount Corporate Campus site and was the project manager for the Taradale Elementary School and Ernest Manning High School projects. Katherine has a long history of involvement in her professional community. She is a past president of the Alberta Association of Architects and was a sessional instructor for the University of Calgary School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. As a member of the advisory committee for the Design Talks Institute, Katherine is dedicated to advancing urban architecture and design education.
Katherine is also a former member of the Canadian Architecture Certification Board accreditation teams. In this role, she reviewed Canadian university program accreditation standards and requirements. Katherine recently completed her terms as a board member with the Calgary Arts Development and the Calgary Public Art Board.
Currently, Katherine works with the City of Calgary Subdivision and Development Appeal Board. She reviews appeals on decisions made by the city’s subdivision and development authorities.
