Sara builds upon 19 years of international and local design experience, including workplace, higher education, repositioning, mixed-use and multi-family. She brings an infectious passion which has amplified our practice through her expertise in engagement and thoughtful approach to transforming spaces for companies like Relic Entertainment, Electronic Arts, PwC, Peoples Group and Capilano University. Sara’s designs are transformational due to her curiosity in the discovery process to understand the core of a business’s objectives, culture, and employee needs. This materializes as unique, conscientious and purposeful designs that are inspiring and functional. As a champion for DIALOG’s integrated design process, her forward-thinking and human-centric approach, creative ability, and strong technical foundations cultivate progressive, inclusive and thoughtfully detailed outcomes.
If you could work a ‘day in the life’ of another discipline at DIALOG, whose would it be?
A mechanical engineer. I am passionate about ceilings and find mechanical engineering fascinating. It is one of those professions that I feel if I could master – design would be limitless.
What’s one thing about you that would surprise people?
For most of my childhood, as an avid animal lover, I wanted to be a large-animal vet before I decided to pursue design.
What’s one quote you live by?
“Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” – Henry Ford
Of all the DIALOG projects that have had a significant positive impact on the wellbeing of our communities/environment, which inspires you most?
Rainbow Park, because it emulates all of DIALOG’s aspirations and is an incredible addition to the fabric of Vancouver that did not come without hard work and perseverance.
I am grateful to work in a profession where I get to learn about what other people do, and have the opportunity to positively impact people's wellbeing and the communities we all share.
