On Thursday, September 28, DIALOG celebrated the groundbreaking of Catalyst at 77 Wade Avenue, a first-of-its-kind research facility with Pomerleau leading construction and Seeker Labs as the visionary developer dedicated to the life sciences industry.
The research and innovation facility will bring world-class life science research to Toronto’s Junction Neighbourhood.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the groundbreaking of Catalyst,” shares Jay Levine, Partner at DIALOG. “Not only have we created a beautiful, light-filled space with incredible views, but at the same time, a highly efficient and safe environment for science and innovation. We are excited and honoured to be working with Seeker Labs and Pomerleau on this and other exciting initiatives across the country to build a Pan-Canadian backbone for science and innovation.”
Catalyst signifies a remarkable advancement within the local scientific field. As a wet lab project inspired by a “Made in Canada” vision to grow science in the country, it will offer a collaborative space for cutting-edge research and development and showcase DIALOG’s commitment to shaping the future of scientific research. With a significant investment of $100 million, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a platform for innovative and industry-leading scientific discovery while establishing standards for environmental responsibility.
Catalyst is nestled in a former industrial area turned residential, creating a burgeoning mixed-used community. Standing at seven storeys tall, Catalyst is poised to provide unparalleled views of downtown Toronto. The transparent structure will include full floor tenancies of 22,000 square feet, robust utility support and building performance custom-designed for laboratory needs. The project is committed to environmental excellence to ensure sustainability, with features targeting LEED Gold certification and Wirescored Platinum recognition.
