Four Seasons Hotel Whistler

Modern meets lodge

Hospitality

Nestled at the base of Whistler Blackcomb ski resort and framed by evergreens, modern blends with alpine at one of Whistler’s most iconic hotels. The Four Seasons Resort Whistler’s phased interior renovation re-imagines the formulaic design of a mountain lodge by juxtaposing rustic materials with contemporary freshness. The renovation of the resort’s 273 guest rooms is a resounding success, and features private or step-out balconies that open to scenic mountain or valley views, suites that offer separate entertainment and sleeping spaces, and private residences complete with kitchens and laundry facilities.

Interior Design

Sleek meets subtle

Inspired by its remarkable setting, the renovation combines urban-minded design elements with a classic lodge aesthetic, elevating après-ski style.

Updates include clean, mid-century modern-inspired, custom-designed furnishings and fixtures, with contrasting sleek, matte black metal against warm raw wood.

Beds are complemented with plush wall coverings in rustic yet refined woven textiles.

Natural finishes in leather, suede, and mohair were chosen so materials would become more beautiful over time.

Views for days

The stunning setting is luxuriated through unfussy details like floating brass light fixtures and sculptural ceiling light features that invite the grandeur of the mountains to take centre stage.

Lobby Fun

In pending phases, a library will become a bar…

a storage room a games room…

and the east wing will expand into a foosball room.

Phase 2: Lobby witmodern materiality

Coming soon: existing architectural millwork will be modernized by bringing bronze touches into the reception desk and fireplace areas.

The reception desk barrier will be broken down into four pods to allow for the hosts to personally greet each guest.

A grounding, custom-designed modular sofa with places to plug in will encourage cozying up to the fire.
