Avison Young Workplace

Sophisticated and approachable

Office & Workplace

The San Francisco headquarters of Avison Young is equal parts sophistication and approachability. Inspired by San Francisco’s alleyway pop-up eateries, cafes, bars and shared workspaces, the office feels like a part of the vibrant urban fabric of the city. The reception area welcomes both world-wide employees and clients daily. A concierge greets them at a coffee bar, offering espresso (or something stronger). Clients are hosted as if they have entered a hotel and are encouraged to utilize the spaces lounges to work, meet or network. The workplace layout actively promotes internal dialog and cross pollination between all levels of the firm. The aesthetics and enlivening amenities are serving to curate a culture unlike any other Avison Young office. If San Francisco is a gateway to Asia, this office is AY’s gateway to a new era of workplace vibrancy.

Closer Cafe

The Closer Cafe has the best views in town. A long wood harvest live edge table doubles as informal meeting space, and a variety of bar height and banquette seating lines the perimeter window walls.

The Team

You really get the essence of San Francisco from the outside-in and it creates a community feeling versus an office feeling.

Workplace strategy

Small meeting rooms or dens within the passage between the office entry and the workstations offer opportunities for collaboration.

These spaces are tucked within two extruded black boxes, adding personality and intimacy within the open architecture.

Subtle, yet functional, brand elements are communicated through features like the wood slatted ceilings, screening partitions, and bar details.
