The Peel Regional Police Operational Support Facility (OSF), designed by DIALOG, is a modern, inclusive, and forward-thinking workspace designed for people – prioritizing collaboration, safety, and well-being.

The facility redefines public safety infrastructure and plays a pivotal role in supporting Peel Regional Police’s vision of serving one of Canada’s most diverse and rapidly growing communities. Located in Brampton, Ontario, this facility is designed to showcase thoughtfully designed workplace environments and a commitment to sustainability in alignment with the Region of Peel’s net-zero carbon goals. The Peel Regional Police Operational Support Facility spans 200,000 square feet, bringing together essential bureaus such as communications services, IT services with an advanced data centre, community safety and well-being, road safety services, and records services. Designed to operate 24/7, the facility will enhance Peel Regional Police’s ability to deliver exceptional public safety services.

The facility features a high-performance envelope clad in curved terracotta, capturing dynamic sunlight throughout the day. It incorporates mass timber construction, photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, and robust backup mechanical and electrical systems. The site offers secured staff parking, EV charging stations, and a fleet fuel station, ensuring operational efficiency for officers and staff.

Thoughtfully integrating universal design and accessibility, the project features all-gender washrooms, universal locker rooms, a prayer room, nursing rooms, and quiet rooms for rest and reflection. Inspired by the organic beauty of birch trees, the interiors feature natural materials, warm textures, and abundant daylight, fostering a calming and restorative atmosphere for its occupants.

The Peel Regional Police Operational Support Facility is more than just an administrative centre; it is a bold and forward-thinking civic landmark. The OSF sets a new benchmark for public safety facilities. It is a place where officers and staff thrive, collaboration flourishes, and the future of policing takes shape—an enduring symbol of safety, resilience, and innovation.

The building’s form is expressed through a high-performance envelope, clad in terracotta—an environmentally responsible material with low embodied carbon, that is sculpted into curving, wave-like forms that soften the façade and capture the shifting movement of sunlight throughout the day.

Visitors enter through a welcoming vestibule that leads to the main security desk, where a prominent display of the PRP crest serves as a striking backdrop.

Located on the south-west corner, the Lobby is a bright, two-story Waiting Area and Records Services Counter. Vertical slats mirror the exterior terracotta panels, evoking the texture of birch trunks. Integrated natural plantings enhance seating areas, while ballistic glazing at the records desk ensures security without compromising light or visibility for staff.

Located on the south-east corner is a large, versatile, and light-filled Community Room that accommodates community gatherings, executive meetings, and public presentations. Expansive glass walls provide visibility and a sense of connection to the surrounding community.

Strategically positioned across multiple floors, indoor gardens encourage movement, well-being, and informal collaboration year-round, regardless of outdoor conditions.

During warmer months, protected outdoor gardens offer tranquil spaces for reflection and relaxation.

Each floor features a central servery and lounge, fostering informal interactions among departments and staff. Comfortable banquettes with integrated power outlets support both casual work and socializing.

Designed for flexibility and collaboration, open office workstations provide individual focus areas with large windows ensuring a bright, energizing workspace.

Various-sized meeting rooms are distributed throughout the facility, equipped with seamless AV integration and room booking systems to optimize access and collaboration across teams.

A central lunchroom on Level 3 promotes cross-unit interactions, offering diverse seating options and a spacious servery for meal preparation.

The highlight of the central lunchroom is the direct expansion into outdoor terrace, featuring relaxation areas, gathering spaces, and a BBQ area under a pergola—enhancing the staff experience during warmer months.

The state-of-the-art 9-1-1 Call Centre is designed to integrate cutting-edge technology while prioritizing staff well-being of supervisors, call takers, and dispatchers.

A Senior Office Lounge provides a relaxed setting for informal meetings and social gatherings. The space extends onto an adjacent outdoor garden, offering a serene retreat for officers and staff.
